We have an exciting opportunity to join Late Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) as a Global Product Leader (GPL) for an asset within heart failure and cardiac amyloidosis. You'll take on a senior leadership role including both people and project management. Your high level accountabilities are critical to the delivery of AZ business objectives and portfolio value targets. This includes leadership of a cross-functional Global Product Team (GPT) to design and deliver a successful strategy aligned to achieving the global brand strategy through the brand's life cycle.

The role reports to the Senior Vice President Late CVRM and is placed at our dynamic R&D site in Boston, Seaport Boulevard, MA, US. What you'll do

As part of developing and delivering the product strategy, you will define and drive the strategic and scientific value creation of the brand including the development path, governance approval, growth and maturity of the brand (Life Cycle Management) while integrating diverse internal and external perspectives into the process. As the lead ambassador for the product, both internally and externally, you'll engage and consult with KEEs to establish and nurture effective partnerships and networks to establish the brand vision. You will be responsible for building and effectively leading high performing cross-functional teams. Your accountabilities will also include:

  • Ensuring appropriate Governance and Compliance and protection of AstraZeneca's Rights, Data and Intellectual Property, including:
  • development and execution of product publication and PR strategy
  • approval of all external information on the product (including publications, regulatory documents, clinical trial registers, etc.)
  • identification, management and protection of Intellectual Property (IP) assets of the product in consultation with technical, IP and legal experts including leadership of the Patent, Regulatory and Legal Defense Team

Essential for the role

  • PhD in a scientific discipline, or MD or equivalent Medical Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of expertise & experience of the drug development process, specifically in designing development strategies and delivering Phase 3 programs coupled with the appropriate regulatory and commercial insights required to achieve a successful product approval and launch.
  • Strong business leader seen as credible with Key Opinion Leaders, Payers and Scientific communities. Specific and relevant Therapy Area expertise. Fully conversant in science as it relates to the brand and intended indication.

  • Ability to communicate and influence both high level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to frame clear & succinct messages, and simplify complexity of decision making
  • Track record of leading successful high performing global cross-functional teams.
