Description:

* Is knowledgeable of and ensures that supervised Associates are knowledgeable of applicable current compliance policies and procedures, laws and regulatory developments including their responsibility to comply with applicable laws, regulations and Holy Cross Hospital policies as a condition of employment, as well as reporting mechanisms such as the corporate compliance hotline.

* Ensures that Associates complete compliance orientation and ensures and arranges for ongoing specific risk training (applicable to the department) on a regular basis throughout the year.

* Provides appropriate assistance regarding monitoring techniques to reasonably assure compliance in supervised functional areas, including the submission of reports of suspect non-compliance to the Compliance Officer so that further evaluation can be performed.

* Responds timely to detect offenses, assists in the investigation and in the development and

implementation of disciplinary and/or corrective action initiatives.

* Facilitates communication by serving as representative between patients and the hospital service areas.

* Where indicated, interprets and explains to patients/patient families policies and procedures of the hospital.

* Meets with patients/patient families, and visits VIP's as needed or requested.

* Identifies and assesses problems that arise. Investigates and directs inquiries and complaints to appropriate hospital associates. Acts as intermediary with hospital administration.

* Participates in investigations of patient care complaints that may involve the hospital or medical staff. Participates in assessment of response to incidents.

* Collects data and disseminates information about patient care problems to appropriate departments for purposes of effecting changes to improve services.

* Encourages understanding and adherence by both staff and patients to the hospital's philosophy on patient's rights and responsibilities.

*Supervise the Information Desk, Value Services and PBX.

Education & Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

* Associate Degree is required. Bachelors is preferred

* Three (3) to five (5) years clinical experience in the health care environment or related industry

* Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Interpersonal skills, and Medical

terminology is necessary; Working knowledge of computers and word processing is necessary.
