Our Client is looking for a Hadoop Developer for a 6 month contract to hire project in Atlanta, GA. Resource can start remote, but must be willing to work on-site as per client request.

Job Description:
• Will be responsible for requirements analysis, High Level Design, Low Level Design and complex code development
• May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.
• Communicates with line of business and management the overall status and health of the application.
• Excellent communication skills. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
• Understand the organization's overall strategies, how the business operates and more importantly what drives success in the business.
• Must be willing and able to express new ideas, concerns and opinions directly to wider team in team meetings face-to-face and via remote-working tools.
• May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application.
• Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills

Required Skills:
• Requires 3-7 years of development experience in Big Data space.
• Experience working with big data and eco system (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, pySpark, HBase, Sqoop, Impala, Kafka, Flume, Oozie, MapReduce, S3 etc.)
• Experience with high level programming languages (Python, Java, etc)
• Experience working with database systems (e.g. Exadata, NoSQL, Cassandra, Neo4j, etc.)
• Experience working as part of an Agile team and using Agile SDLC tools (Jira, etc.)
• Ability to partner with other functional areas to ensure execution of development, design, coding, testing, debugging and documenting application
• Ability to develop awareness of business function for which application is being designed in order to drive out detailed requirements and form effective partnerships
• Strong analytical ability, independent problem solving, and good communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and deliver in a fast paced agile environment
• Expert knowledge and experience in software development methodologies and industry practices
• Expert understanding and experience with building and deploying enterprise applications
• Ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal supervision
• Excellent written, verbal and diagramming skills. Expertise in using PowerPoint and clearly articulating findings/presenting solutions

Desired Skills:
• Experience in Banking and Finance domain.
• ETL experience.
• Objected Oriented Programming and Design Experience
• Exposure to data analytic tools / languages.
• Experience with BIG DATA source control management. (e.g., Bitbucket) or job scheduling (e.g., AutoSys)
• Experience working with data scientists or analytical business users will be beneficial.
• Experience in Python programming.
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Cloudera Certification
