Job Title:Hand Hygiene Program Coordinator

Department:University Hospital | Epidemiology

Scope of Position

Works within a defined organizational structure to assist in supporting the functions of the Clinical Epidemiology Department for the purpose of improving the care and safety of patients and staff.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Clinical Epidemiology supports the needs of the Clinical Epidemiology Department staff. Provides project management, data management, and administrative support as needed to meet the demands of the department. Main role will be management of the electronic hand hygiene monitoring system. This system has been installed in all inpatient units and all staff that enter patient rooms have been badged to be monitored. Automatic reports at a determined frequency will be sent to the individual staff member and manager to drive improvement and compliance affecting patient safety. This individual will also be responsible to develop and maintain a hand hygiene monitoring program for areas not being electronically monitored.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

• High School graduate
• Preferably, some post high school education.
• Medical terminology preferred
• At least 2 years experience in administrative field preferred
• Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Office, e-mail, internet) required
• Preferably experience, intermediate level, with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
