Position Snapshot
The Information Technology Support Technician provides support to company employees to resolve telephony, computer software and hardware problems. Coordinates with hardware or software vendors for service if necessary.

Day in the Life
In a typical day you can expect to:

  • Screen, refer and diagnose internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of computers and related systems
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic routines to identify problems relating to hardware, application software, and network communications
  • Troubleshoot database and data issues, and make recommendations for resolution
  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Guide staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems
  • Diagnose and solve hardware or software faults
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Create new user accounts and profiles and resolve password issues.
  • Test and evaluate new technology

What you need to apply
  • A technical certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years' experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT Support practices and procedures
  • Ability to provide afterhours on-call support during scheduled periods
  • Ability to work overtime on occasion based on the business needs
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations, including vendors and coworkers
  • Ability to effectively manage and communicate work delivery expectations with internal customers
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
