Job Description:

This HR coordinator position is an integral part of the core plant leadership team as they will provide tactical and strategical support to human resources programs and management within an assigned area, great opportunity here to partake in a successful business that is an essential business in this today's environment where you will have ownership for the HR function at the plant level adding value in many areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains up-to date, accurate employee records.
  • Partner with the divisional onsite continuous Improvement manager to develop, improve existing, and administer plant training programs for hourly production employee
  • Performs administrative support duties, supporting Greif managers and participate on project teams as requested.
  • Prepares and/or processes paperwork, including but not limited to the attendance program, employee reimbursements, disciplinary files, leaves of absences, retirements and terminations.
  • Conduct new hire orientation session and assist new hires with getting signed up for benefits and act as the initial contact for benefit questions.
  • Partners with our corporate Talent acquisition team to fill production positions and will be in charge of participating and coordinating interviews, background checks, job fairs, community outreach to promote Greif careers, recruitment strategies, etc.
  • Bi-weekly pay roll processing
  • May fill in for, assist, or interface with other plant support functions including, but not limited to answering telephones, data entry, filing and tracking of information, accounts payable, ordering supplies, and receiving visitors.
  • Partner with management with to lead employee engagement efforts and action plans.
  • The main point of contact for our plant colleagues with policy interpretation, plant rules, etc.
  • Conduct employee investigations in a fair, consistent and methodical manner.
  • Fill in for our accountant during vacation to assist with basic invoicing duties. (10% of the year)
  • Preferred experience in a Manufacturing setting but not required
Education and Experience:
  • Typically possesses High School diploma (or equivalent) and 6 or more years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Proficient knowledge of basic office equipment (i.e. copiers, fax machines, calculators, etc.).
  • Proficient understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Strong attention to details.
