What You Will Be Doing As Human Resource Director of a high-end regional foodservice distribution company, you will be tasked with determining appropriate staffing levels, advertising strategy, and employee hiring / onboarding / retention / seperation methods (all while working closely with department heads and executive leads). The ideal candidate will be well-versed with payroll systems (strong preference to Paycom experience) as well as actively managing our corporate 401(K) for a company sized with 500 to 1000 employees. You'll also be training and developing the HR staff reporting directly to you and tasking them with interview procedures, onboarding, etc.

Strong preference will be given to the candidate with experience in a distribution environment (close working relationships with warehouse and shipping manager to develop best practices for daily logistics) as well as developing and establishing company-wide best practices in regards to employee manuals, best practices, hiring, leadership training, regular employee evaluations, and corrective actions (including for managers presiding over hourly wage roles).

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to remain current on FMLA, ADA, NYS and federal labor and minimum wage laws as well as to foster healthy working relationships with the executives and managers within the organization for regular feedback and development of best practices company-wide.
What You Need for this Position - Proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) a strong plus
- Paycom (preferred), Paycor, Paychex, or ADP experience
- Strong leadership skills, comfort in cross-functional collaboration in regards to best HR practices to be implemented throughout the organization
- ADA, FMLA, NYS and Labor experience
- Recruiting expertise, ability to maximize in-house recruiting efforts while maintaining healthy relationships with recruiters for when necessary
- 3+ years experience with HR leadership role within an organization in the distribution or warehousing industries (preference to foodservice) with daily freight and logistics
