Responsibilities

Under direction of the Program Manager/Director, the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Certified Physician. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment. Accompany patients in the chamber while undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, when deemed necessary by the Hyperbaric Certified Physician. Assist in the delivery of patient care as appropriate to the level of his/her medical training.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Provide documentation or credentials of graduation from an accredited school of EMT/Paramedic or equivalent medical training

Required Minimum Experience:
  • Six months previous experience in an outpatient clinic preferred

Required Minimum Licensure:
  • Medical Assistant, EMT II or Paramedic or college training equivalent

Required Minimum Certification:
  • Current certification by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) as a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) is required within 12 months of employment.
  • Successful completion of an Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) approved hyperbaric course with TCOM training. This is evidenced by the possession of a certificate of completion.
  • Successful completion of the International ATMO Hyperbaric Safety Director Course, Certified with Acrylic Inspection Training course to be completed within 12 months of employment.
  • BLS Course "A" Certification.

Required Minimum Skills:
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Experience managing large complex projects and has strong project management skills
  • Demonstrates extensive experience in client relationship management
  • Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and other staff
  • Leadership and ability to motivate others
