The Role:

As an Incident Response Analyst in Cambridge or Seattle, you will join our Security Operations team to tackle cybersecurity threats and incidents. Reporting to the Senior Director, you'll develop essential skills to manage and resolve security events, guided by experienced analysts. Your role involves enhancing incident response processes, maintaining critical documentation, and collaborating across teams to support cybersecurity initiatives. With a focus on continuous learning and improvement, you'll contribute to the effectiveness and evolution of our incident response strategies.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Report to the Senior Director of Security Operations, Attack and Response (SOAR), supporting key incident response operations.
  • Assist in managing security incidents under the guidance of senior analysts, learning to triage, contain, and resolve security events.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of incident response processes, learning to leverage tools and technologies for improved performance.
  • Help maintain the IR playbook and runbooks, under supervision, ensuring they reflect current procedures and industry practices.
  • Support decision-making processes during incidents, providing assistance and following directions from senior team members.
  • Work with cross-functional teams under guidance to support cybersecurity objectives and initiatives.
  • Aid in developing and tracking performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the incident response team.
  • Assist in managing relationships with security vendors and understanding the development of KPIs.
  • Support the maintenance of internal security knowledge management processes and documentation.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • A Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, with exposure to incident response or security operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic IR concepts and eagerness to learn and grow into the role of an incident commander.
  • Understanding of common cybersecurity threats and a willingness to develop skills in handling security incidents.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills, capable of explaining security issues to peers and supervisors.
  • Interest in technology change management, project management, and business process management.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to assist in managing multiple projects and priorities.

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $87,500to $140,000. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
