Job Description Summary:
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on theBraintreePlatform team, you will be responsible for buildingthe next generation platform for our payments in the cloud. You will bemaking key technology decisions,building & maintaining large production grade distributed systems, working with our customers to resolve their day-to-day problems,andhelping mentor engineers.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on theBraintreePlatform team, you will be responsible for buildingthe next generation platform for our payments in the cloud. You will bemaking key technology decisions,building & maintaining large production grade distributed systems, working with our customers to resolve their day-to-day problems,andhelping mentor engineers.

What You'll Do

• Anchor major team workstreams to building and improve large-scale distributed systems, grow the scale of our platform, reduce complexity and burn down technical debt
• Develop solutions forcustomer needs with an eye towards self-service products backed by efficient operations
• Mentor other software engineers
• Build key components of our platform via pair programming with other engineers
• Setup practicesto ensure the highest levels of operational resiliency
• Collaborate with leadership, peers and customers to effectively to deliver solutions and projects
• Support production systems 24/7 (One week in 2+ months - Team rotation based)

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering
• Design and Operational Experience with large scale production grade distributed systems
• Great Linuxskills and understanding of operating systems
• Experience building\maintaining largedistributed systems on one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform & CloudFormation
• Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, Ruby, Golang, or shell scripting

Good To Have

• Understanding of AWS technologies
• Experience withDockerand Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools and best practices
• Understanding ofSSL/TLS and PKI concepts
• Experience with proxy technologies such asNginx,HAProxy, and Squid

Experience managing infrastructure services such as DNS, LDAP, and SMTP

Colorado Only: The pay range for this position in Colorado starts as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus or commission if a Sales role. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary.
