Blue Cross of Idaho is looking for an Instructional Designer to work collaboratively with key operational leaders to develop classroom and computer-based-training that increases efficiency for frontline employees, leaders, and management. This role uses classroom learning data and learning methods to improve the training approach and learner experience.

This role reports to the Manager, Training & Development. The position is located in Meridian, Idaho. Hybrid work schedule is supported. #LI-Hybrid

To be considered for this opportunity you have:

Experience: 3 years' instructional design, training development, eLearning or related experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related field of study, or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

We'd also love it if you had:

  • Strong understanding of instructional design and performance management principles
  • Adept at working within constraints including but not limited to aggressive deadlines, changing requirements and limited resource availability
  • Self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with supervision in a team environment
  • Experience designing self-paced online training solutions, not limited to systems training
  • Experience conducting needs analysis
  • Experience creating effective evaluation models
  • Experience with Workday, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia or comparable learning management programs

In this role, we will ask you to:
  • Define learning objectives and align course activities, learning materials, and assessments with learning objectives.
  • Design and structure course content, learning activities and assessments.
  • Create clear and measurable learning objectives.
  • Design, create, and deploy multimedia and interactive learning, such as web resources and third-party instructional materials.
  • Lead or work within a multi-expert team to design and develop online courses.
  • Drive collection and analyses of data that predicts learner success and at-risk behaviors.
  • Maintain existing learning content, analyze effectiveness of current curriculum, and determine future needs, in collaboration with key business partners.
  • Evaluate training classes and instructors to determine adjustments needed to improve the learning experience.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
