POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Department at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for a full-time, in-person, instructor position beginning August 2024. This is initially a two-year contract with a high likelihood of renewal, and a possibility of conversion to a tenure-track position. Preferred applicants will have an MBA or a master's degree in Finance, and college-level teaching experience. We will also consider a master's or PhD in Economics with Finance as a field or professional experience in Finance.

TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:

The department seeks a candidate who will be able to teach a wide range of courses in Finance, including Managerial Finance (part of the Business core), Investments, and Advanced Finance. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who are willing and able to teach Business Analytics (Excel), Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting (these classes are part of the Business core). Commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment is essential. Alma College prioritizes inclusive pedagogy, experiential learning, and opportunities for student research. Typical teaching load is six units per year. Preferred experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations.
