$12.00 per hour (20 hours per week)

Job Summary:

The Office of Internal Audit is seeking an Intern(s). This person(s) will work with the Chief Internal Auditor to execute the Internal Audit Plan and related special projects.

* Documenting processes, identifying risks and controls (or control gaps) via flow charting using Visio;
* Designing audit testing programs based on the process documentation and our sampling methodology
* Executing audit testing;
* Documenting testing results, findings and developing internal control improvement recommendations;
* Writing audit reports highlighting findings and recommendations to our business partners, the Board of Trustees (BOT), and President's Cabinet (Cabinet);
* Assisting with policy development (including, but not limited to, writing new policy, updating current policy, working with Subject Matter Experts and the University Executive Council (UEC) through the developmental and approval process);
* Attending UEC, BOT and Cabinet meetings when necessary.

Hours and focus of work are flexible depending on availability, skills and interest. A commitment of roughly up to 20 hours per week.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled at Jacksonville State University

Preferred Qualifications:

• One of the following School of Business and Industry Majors: Accounting, Business Administration, Communication, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing
• Preferred candidate will be a rising Junior or Senior.
