Summary - Visual Design Intern

We are seeking a visual design intern to collaborate on our internal studio team at A3Ventures, the innovation lab of AAA of Northern California, Nevada and Utah. Our projects support GIG Car Share, AAA Identity Champion, AAA House Manager, AAA Smart Home, and numerous R&D programs. These ventures are all new ways that AAA NCNU is seeking to create new value for its more than 6 million Members.

You will work on marketing campaigns, concepts and materials in digital, social and print media. We are looking for someone highly creative, passionate about design, organized and with a sharp eye for details. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a willingness to both collaborate and learn.

The visual design intern will be an energetic and innovative creative problem solver who enjoys challenges. They must be able to balance creative concepting with asset production, able to work under tight deadlines as both an individual contributor and a team player, ready to work collaboratively with the creative team and digital marketing team to support a wide range of assignments.

his is a part-time (20 hours per week) and temporary intern position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with marketing and creative team members to design and execute digital, social and print projects

  • Understand and interpret existing design solutions, apply AAA brand standards to formulate new and exciting work

  • Must be proactive in managing workload and getting information and assets necessary to successfully deliver high quality work

  • Work with design leads to execute high-quality, imaginative and on brand work

  • Organize and maintains digital files and other assets created and used by the creative team

Qualifications:

  • Strong design, conceptual and executional skills

  • Enthusiastic and energetic work ethic

  • Excellent online portfolio that includes examples of digital & print design, typography and conceptual work.

  • Illustration, photography, video and content creation skills a plus

  • Excellent organization skills: self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast paced environment while juggling multiple projects and adhering to tight and demanding deadlines

  • Be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and emerging platforms. Proficiency in Figma, Hubspot a plus, along with curiosity and willingness to learn new tools.

  • During Covid disruption, be able to work offsite with hardware and software we will provide. As work rhythms and locations start returning to normal, be able to work in person in our office in Berkeley, CA.
