iSalus Healthcare, a division of EverCommerce, is seeking a VP of Software Engineering to lead our platform modernization efforts.

In this role, you will lead all new and existing product development initiatives for our EMR/EHR, Practice Management and related solutions. The team you lead is involved in every aspect of the product creation and delivery process. You will manage multiple teams with multiple technologies (both legacy and next generation) - support existing apps, develop new ones and drive innovation to build growth for our solution ecosystem. You will work with customers, cross-company leadership, and all areas of the organization to ensure that we deliver high-quality, engaging, and intuitive products that will drive growth.

You:
You are passionate about building and delivering intuitive, easy-to-use software products, and have a proven track record for turning ideas into sustainable solutions. You have worked in Healthcare IT and understand the wants and needs of a physician clinical solution, and ideally have some experience with physician billing/RCM and front/back-office workflow. You want to interact with stakeholders and partner with all areas of our organization to develop solutions to solve customer business challenges.You have strong technical, SaaS, enterprise cloud, and mobile application development experience, and have experience working closely with Product and business leaders to define strategy and roadmaps. You have proven leadership and technical know-how to turn ideas into user stories, requirements, and prototypes so they can become useful software applications to help our customers succeed. You are a people-focused leader who loves coaching and mentoring. You thrive working in a creative, fast-paced, growth environment to implement product innovation. You have executive presence and the experience to lead a development team to deliver innovation and quality on-time and on-plan. You have experience being a part of the leadership team driving a culture of excellence and growth.

Where:
The EverCommerce team is distributed across North America, with more than 40 office locations in the U.S. and Canada. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. While the iSalus Healthcare team is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, this role can be based anywhere in the United States - if you're close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that this role may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams of developers focused on a portfolio of healthcare SaaS products to predictably deliver product enhancements, new products and features, and drive delivery of value and stability to customers
  • Embrace inherent uncertainty to allow fluid planning of roadmap implementation and cross-functional coordination
  • Partner closely with Product leaders to define product strategy, roadmaps, and deliverables
  • Expand and extend our utilization of technology to enhance our product offering and increase our efficiency
  • Oversee application development, testing, and implementation of our cloud and mobile software
  • Effectively communicate technical issues, advocate solutions, and resolve problems with customers
  • Set the vision for an environment of ingenuity and creativity and act as a role model for others in challenging the status quo to encourage innovation

Required Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a background in B2B SaaS technical management with a growth-stage company and personal characteristics that complement the team.
  • 8+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Experience with full-stack healthcare application development using technologies and languages such as Java, C# / .NET, Ruby, JavaScript, etc; solid understanding of technologies such as REST, HTTP, and JSON, APIs, RDBS and SQL; iOS or Android hybrid application development experience using React, Ionic, or similar
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful software lifecycle - development teams, QA teams, DevOps teams, architecture teams, and infrastructure teams
  • Proven track record of successfully managing - as well as deep fluency in - software development methodologies
  • Proven track record of working successfully with a professionalized product delivery operation
  • Proven track record of hiring entry and mid-level engineering, architecture, and infrastructure resources
  • A self-starter with a "get it done" attitude, capable of driving projects to completion
  • Impeccable integrity and ethical standards.
  • High energy, participatory style; strong inter-personal skills and the ability to mentor and motivate team members
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams across dispersed geographies
  • Demonstrated proficiency leveraging different staffing strategies (FTEs, contractors, off- and near-shore, consultants, etc) to manage flexing staffing demands
  • Must be comfortable in dynamic work situations within a high-growth portfolio environment
  • Strong initiative, keen attention to detail, and complex problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in the Healthcare IT space is a must for this role, with experience understanding HIPAA compliance and information/security requirements
