Basic Function

Responsible for the overall ISCC+ process in NA, in particular: (i) coordinate all processes related to ISCC+ certifications in NA, their development within C&LC and interaction with other functions (ii) run the S&OP process to balance supply & demand and optimize the overall integrated value across business units (iii) support the creation, implementation and optimization of the required system tools for planning and execution (mass balance and purchase/sales orders), compliant with ISCC+ standards, and in cooperation with IT or other required departments; (iv) ensure timely and successful auditing of all required processes, amongst others via Quality Management and the manufacturing sites, (v) interact with the ISCC+ organization and auditing firms on developments (vi) apply the same for any future alternative sustainability declaration schemes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • (i) Participate the overall ISCC+ process at global level:
  • Participate the strategic (multi-year) planning, run the tactical S&OP planning (monthly level) including demand and supply, make sure the transactional process and mass balance activities run smoothly and in accordance with ISCC+ rules.
  • Organise interaction with relevant stakeholders, such as Quality Management, Manufacturing sites, O&P, I&D, APS and other relevant stakeholders, in order to achieve the required goals.
  • Knowledge of all roles involved inside and outside C&LC (tasks, interactions).
  • Support phasing out of roles currently executed or driven by other functions (e.g. IT developments, mass balancing, S&OP and governance meeting) as well as maintaining and reinforcing if needed responsibilities of other functions such as Quality Management or Manufacturing.
  • Scope: all required businesses (e.g. O&P, I&D, APS, ...) and product categories (Revive, Renew, and possibly Recover).
  • (ii) Run the S&OP process:
  • Run the regular NA cross-functional Governance and S&OP meetings to balance demand and supply.
  • Enable an optimal allocation of Sustainability Declaration to maximize value across LYB customers: interface of C&LC with sales from O&P, I&D and APS, C&LC.
  • Coordinate general agreement on business guidelines for customer prioritization (and their implementation).
  • Support Strategy & Finance from C&LC on defining adequate transfer mechanism for balance sheet management.
  • (iii) Adapt regionally, implement and optimize the required system tools:
  • Planning tool for strategic (multi-year) planning in a pragmatic way (e.g. excel).
  • Planning tool for S&OP process (monthly level) in a pragmatic way (e.g. excel).
  • Transactional tool for mass balancing, registration and support of purchase and sales transactions, sales approval, stock management, in the most appropriate set-up: the current MVP as well as the interface with SAP and the required. functionality in SAP to support the transactional process. Critical to have a robust solution, capable of handling large number of transactions in an efficient way.
  • Organise the certification or compliancy with ISCC+ rules as appropriate or required for business purposes.
  • Organise the interaction and project execution of all required functions such as IT, Digital, SAP, ...
  • Support the examination of alternative proposition of Digital on 3rd party blockchain tracking method.
  • (iv) Coordination of plant audits for ISCC+ certification.
  • Timely and successful auditing of all required processes, amongst others via Quality Management and the manufacturing sites. Support & follow-up with plant contacts on yearly audits preparation.
  • Support the extension to new businesses if appropriate.
  • Ensure every site has a dedicated focal point and liaise with quality management.
  • (v) Relations with ISCC+ and auditing firms:
  • Active participation to recurring meetings in NA with ISCC+ to collect & share regulatory updates.
  • Support future Regulatory affairs advisor to start documenting and sharing LYB's position for next ISCC+ evolutions.
  • (vi) Future developments:
  • Support sales of NA product in other regions (providing adequate support and resources to Commercial Development & O&P Sales team).
  • Anticipate ISCC+ or equivalent certification for the mechanical recycling assets.
  • Assume the same role for any new sustainability scheme if chosen by the BU.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master in Business, Economics, Supply chain, Finance, Engineering, Science.
  • 10 years of experience in Business, Economics, Supply chain, Finance or Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of Polyolefins (or Chemicals) Industry preferred.
  • Computer literacy, incl MS Office, SAP and/or Power BI and Business Warehouse.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience in running/developing business processes and tools.
  • Business experience in O&P, I&D or other petrochemical environments.
