Job Summary: IT Leadership II performs high-level professional or technical IT activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of IT principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards and university policy. Generally responsible for managing a large IT unit/department or multiple functions within a department supervising senior level and entry level professional IT personnel and other staff. May be responsible for establishing policy, procedures and standards that ensure the protection and security of IT functions.

Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for technical leadership and personnel management for a given software applications area. Plans and directs all software development and maintenance within the application area. Will be proactive and innovative in searching out issues and suggesting new ideas or modifications to existing systems. Provides direction, technical control and evaluates progress and assists team as needed. Provides leadership for cross-team projects for a variety of business units on campus. Consults and coordinates with customers in determining technical solutions to business processes. Will be hands-on, providing technical expertise, and learning technology to support team, software applications, and customers. Maintains awareness of technology trends and best practices.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional IT experience; OR Master's degree or higher and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional IT experience. Must include some experience supervising IT personnel, some experience implementing and maintaining business applications, custom and third party and some experience in SQL. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system skills, or security technology. Advanced knowledge of project management methods and applications. Supervision of people or financial resources. May require advanced level training or certification.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication, written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managing a diverse portfolio of projects. Experience with university administrative and/or academic computing applications. Experience in reporting and analytics. Experience in K2, UIPath, DocuSign, OnBase. The ideal candidate will be proactive and innovative in searching out issues and suggesting new ideas or modifications to existing systems and processes.
