We are currently looking for a Jr. Electrical Designer to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess! The person in this role will be responsible for helping design of Electrical subsystems and Control Panels for fluid management process equipment for the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical market, as well as, responsible for component selection, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and loop drawings. The Jr. Electrical Designer will work closely with the Systems Electrical Assembly team to help guide with component wiring and engineers to assist with troubleshooting and also will work closely with the Electrical Engineering Team, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Automation Team, and Mechanical Design Team to review customer requirements, product features, hazardous area requirements, local regulations (UL and CE) and actualize those into fully designed Electrical subsystems.

Responsibilities:
  • Create electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, and P&IDs in AutoCad by interpreting project specifications and working closely with project engineers. Update electrical schematics per assembly redlines.
  • Make design decisions based on product and component specifications.
  • Build & maintain library of commonly used components and drawings for quick access on future projects.
  • Consult with the Systems Assembly team to guide the electrical assembly, assist in troubleshooting, and redlining drawings.
  • Communicate with Enclosure and Control Panel Build suppliers to request quotes, consult on design decisions, manage the builds, and answer questions.
  • Completes and submits timely and accurate reports for payroll processing, as requested by the Accounting Department.
  • Enhance product and technical knowledge and strengthen skills by attending seminars and training programs (continuing education)

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associates degree in technical or scientific field (i.e. engineering, computer-aided design, industrial design, or other appropriate field).
  • 2 to 3 years' experience working in process systems, drafting, and electrical wiring. Experience reading electrical schematics and applying them to real world applications. Familiarity with Hazardous area and ATEX standards.
  • Electrical design experience a plus
  • Advanced user of AutoCAD Electrical software required.
