WMR is the Intermountain West's largest scrap metal recycler with recycling facilities located in Colorado, Nevada and Utah. Our processing capabilities include automobile shredders, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, extensive transportation services, and railcar dismantling. Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist retail customers in purchasing non-ferrous scrap metal creating a positive customer experience.
  • Requires outside work and work in non-climate controlled environments year round. Accurately grading material and input transaction in-house system.
  • Operate small material handling equipment as necessary to move materials for processing
  • Assist and direct customers to proper location to unload materials.
  • Inspect for existence of flammable, radioactive, hazardous and/or leaded materials.
  • Inspect materials for liquids, non-metallic and all other posted or non-posted materials that are non-acceptable (i.e. propane tanks, PCP's, batteries, etc.)
  • Ensure that any materials not allowed are not left on Company property.
  • Remove and properly store any items or material occasionally.
  • General duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, etc.
  • May assist other workers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, computer and verbal communication skills required.
  • Workweek; M-F 7:30am to 4:30pm and rotating Saturdays 7:45am to 12:30pm
  • 1-year experience of general labor in an industrial /outdoor work environment.
  • Customer service to public or vendors preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more as required.
  • Must wear all necessary PPE while working or while in the yard.
  • Follows company safety standards at all times.
  • Knowledge of scrap materials a plus.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with others and be part of the team.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
