For more than 90 years, the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine has provided comprehensive medical training for medical students, residents and fellows in addition to lifelong learning opportunities for practicing physicians. The department consists of 19 specialty divisions based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, which is ranked as one of America's Best Children's Hospitals in 10 out of 10 specialties in US News and World Report .
The Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health in the Department of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is a national leader in global pediatric infectious disease clinical care, research and education. With 16 clinical and research faculty, and a dedicated team of clinical and research staff, the division's focus on global child health reflects the understanding that infectious diseases know no boundaries.
Job Summary
- Performs complex and intricate laboratory experiments while following research techniques and procedures.
- Develops procedures and protocols in collaboration with leadership.
- Prepares research reports or analyses for projects.
- Maintains safety records and ensures safety/compliance procedures and protocols are followed.
- Provides guidance and support to junior-level staff in laboratory operations.
- May develop, prepare, and coordinate grant applications and grant-related activities to obtain funding for research projects and related work.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- Bachelor's degree in related field
Preferred- Master's degree in related field

Working Conditions / DemandsThe role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised SalaryThe salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year. Salary determination is based on experience, skill level, education, and training.
