Job Description

LC LAB Group Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee testing of tobacco products in client environment using LC, LCMS, LCMSMS, smoking machines, and wet chemistry techniques
  • Lead team, schedule, and direct training of employees in client environment
  • Ensure compliance to Quality System; identify, prevent, and correct any departures from the Quality System
  • Ensure efficient standards in laboratory operation, develop, and implement operational improvements
  • Contribute to development/validation of new methods and transition into routine testing, and optimization of current methods
  • Perform instrument calibration, instrument troubleshooting, recognize errors, identify root causes, apply process improvement
  • Remain current on technology, industry, and business advancements and trends.
  • Lead team, schedule work to ensure sufficient coverage and performance to meet turnaround times
  • Foster motivation, morale, and teamwork
  • Conduct performance reviews, coach and develop individuals and team to maximize performance, address performance concerns, interview applicants, maintain training records, ensure succession planning for the team
  • Modify, develop, validate, write and edit methods, procedures and reports.
  • Review data, data notebooks and reports
  • Expand self-awareness and develop leadership skills, attend applicable leadership training based on identified needs
  • Ensure that client receives excellent service and accurate results consistent with superior analytical testing.
  • Communicate and discuss methods, results, and questions with clients and other teams as required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other related degree concentration
  • Minimum of 5 years of analytical Laboratory experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience in GMP/GLP and or ISO compliance laboratory environment
  • Experience supporting analytical method development, qualification and validation
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and teambuilding skills
  • Strong computer, client service, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

  • Position is full-time, working Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.movertime as needed
