Responsibilities

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Responsible for administration and delivery of programs directly related to all areas of the Gas line of business. In conjunction with the business and technical training, determines training and orientation needs for new employees conducting work on AVANGRID gas facilities. Develops and conducts additional advanced training for incumbent operations staff. Monitors and advises affected departments on individual and company status of critical information pertaining the training and qualification of employees. Review applicable contractor OQ and training programs for compliance with company standards and Written Plan.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Identifies, develops, implements and conducts advanced technical training for applicable incumbents that will address the future needs of the corporation.
  • Provide feedback to Technical Training/Gas Operations with suggested enhancements or modifications to the Operator Qualification Compliance Program, Written Plan, or Gas Training Materials. Working knowledge of Avangrid Operation and Maintenance Procedures, and Construction Standards. Represent AGR interests on applicable NGA Committees.
  • Provides consultation and support to applicable department/employees by analyzing training needs and developing programs and reports that will assist with strategic decision making.
  • Perform quality assurance spot reviews of Gas Operations Skills based recertification testing. Communicate class training and testing results to Gas Operation Management.
  • Perform Skills based recertification training for Gas Operation employees. Assist HR/Gas Training with course delivery and development to ensure integration of OQ elements within all related gas training.
  • Drive innovation of training as it relates to Gas technical training materials and technologies.
  • Safely and proficiently work in a team setting maintaining an emphasis on learner engagement and the establishment/maintenance of maintaining a qualified workforce.

    Education & Experience Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of five years relevant experience or High School/GED with the completion of the relevant progression program and 10 years relevant experience required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Gas Operations O&M and Standards, Operator Qualifications, and other related industry regulations
    • Knowledge of industrial, technical, program development and administration, engineering and/or construction principles and techniques, statistics, computer programming and work management.
    • Experience working in a formal management system, including following and improving standard operating procedures.

    Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties. This is applicable to employees that will work in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York within AVANGRD Network and Corporate functions. This does not include those that will work for Avangrid Renewables
