This position will support CNH Industrial's Tractor Innovation activities. The primary goal is to lead and execute tractor-implement automation projects with the task of supporting roadmap definition/fine tuning for tractor-implement combination and identifiyng technical solution from a system view point to proceed with the deployment of the projects.

  • Lead and execute a group of innovation projects, prepare and complete electronic designs, design reviews, FMEA and clearly define and evaluate component and system costs versus achieved functionality.
  • Develop prototype software and do performance checks on the vehicles defining test procedures, if required, and the corrective actions to achieve the results.
  • Must be willing to travel (30%) to gain product and functional experience and assist in the evaluation of the electronic systems in the field.
  • Accountable to maintain project log on assigned tasks and work with team through development and implementation phases to meet timing.
  • Will communicate with the engineering team and Digital organization to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion following established design process.
  • Be able to develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and documentation.
  • This position will report to the Zero Emission and Advanced Engineering Manager and will work closely with Machine Efficiency and Optimization team on top of various Ag Product Platforms and autonomous ream.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work within the Advanced Technology & Innovation area as Tractor-implement Innovation team member by developing innovative, functional features and systems that address future Platform needs. An extensive amount of independent thinking is required to generate new ideas.
  • Leading and executing innovation projects related to automation and electrification of tractors and tractor-implement combination
  • Leading roadmap definition/fine tuning and projects deployment
  • Preparing electronic designs and system architectures for design reviews.
  • Defining and evaluating component and system costs versus achieved functionality
  • Prototyping software development
  • Guide interns from university for those activities related to the projects and new investigations where the candidate is directly involved
  • Review and understand technologies and trends that will influence medium term and long term product plansWork closely to simulation teams in building &validation of different simulation models on the new systems developed
  • Update the related management tools (TcAE, kpi-tool, CTS…)
  • Transfer features and technologies to the Ag Platforms.

The annual salary for this role is $102,000-$156,000, plus applicable bonus. Actual salaries will vary and are based on various factor such as skill, experience, and qualification for this role.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronic or Telecommunication)
  • 6 or more years of combined experience in the following areas:
    • Leading and executing innovation projects related to automation and electrification of tractors and tractor-implement combination
    • Leading of roadmap definition
    • Leading and managing of customer requirements collection

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of ISOBUS/TIM protocols and their application to Agricultural machines.
  • Experience with off road machinery requirements and operations
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment that requires an open mindset.
  • Ability to provide local and remote field or site support/analysis.
  • Interest in robotics, automation, sensors, electrification and wireless communication.
  • Agricultural background or relevant experience in off road machinery engineering.
  • Experience with Vector Canalyzer/Canoe, NILabVIEW and related platforms like NI CompactRIO
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink
