Description

The University of Michigan-Flint School of Management is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Lecturer III position in the area of Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management, starting in Fall 2024.

Responsibilities

The teaching assignment would include undergraduate and graduate courses in business analytics, supply chain management, and operations management using quantitative and analytical methods.  The candidate is expected to provide service to the School and the University beyond classroom teaching on standing and ad-hoc committees, engage in academic program development and program assessment in the department, mentor students, and provide career advice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates should minimally possess a Ph.D. or ABD status in a Ph.D. program in supply chain management, business analytics, operations research, or a closely related discipline, or demonstrated experience (such as DBA with professional experience).  The candidate should have knowledge and experience to be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of business analytics, supply chain management, and operations management using quantitative and analytical methods.  Strong communication skills are needed.

Desired Qualifications

Having relevant industry experience and/or peer-reviewed research publications is a plus.  A committment to, and evidence of teaching excellence with experience and interest in teaching online, in-person, and hybrid/mixed-mode courses is preferred.

Work Schedule
A consistent hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time based upon the course offerings and faculty obligations.  However, this is submit to change.

Union Affiliation 
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
