InterSystems Course Developers play a crucial role developing classes that enable customers of our database, interoperability and analytics technologies to succeed. Our training solutions are delivered worldwide to empower learners from Global 500 companies to regional hospitals with the information and technical skills required to rapidly design and build powerful InterSystems technology-based solutions. We are looking for a professional Live Instruction Technical Course Developer committed to creating best in class learning content. The Live Instruction Technical Course Developer is responsible for creating innovative, engaging, and impactful in-person and live virtual classroom courseware for training organizations' technical learning audiences. Excellent course development skills, previous technical experience and a desire to enable others to learn will help you succeed in this role.

Senior trainers/course developers will train and mentor you as you learn our products. You will continue to develop a blend of instructional design skills, technical skills, and interpersonal skills.

All training is currently delivered virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic but in-person classroom training will resume once it is safe to do so. This role will create content for virtual classroom training and in-person classroom training. This is an office-based role.

Responsibilities:

• Design, create, maintain and revise classroom training materials and activities for our database, analytics, integration and healthcare products.
• Develop instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, and related training collateral for in-person and live virtual classroom training.
• Help customers, partners and internal staff excel in their roles by creating training that enables them to use our corporate products proficiently. Developers, integrators, administrators, analysts and software architects are among those you will help.
• Collaborate with Development, Customer Support, Account Management and Marketing teams to provide innovative and sound instructional solutions to ensure effective use of InterSystems products and technologies.
• Work with Subject Matter Experts to assess new and changing product capabilities to identify learning needs and to determine how best to train our users.
• Consistently strive to improve upon the value and quality of our training materials.
• Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods.
• Research and stay current with emerging technologies and trends in instructional design in order to be able to deliver best-in-class training solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical course design and development.
• Experience designing and developing technical training for online, classroom and mixed deliveries.
• Experience delivering technical training is a plus.
• Experience with technical software.
• Proven needs analysis skills.
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvements and take the initiative to make positive changes.
• Proven ability to quickly learn technical software products or technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-organizationally.

Education

• BS, MS or certification in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning Development, Adult Learning, Education or related areas desired.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent STEM field (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) acceptable.
