Plans and schedules the daily work flow of department and coordinates with other areas as required to ensure compliance with service standards and regulatory deadlines. Driving day-to-day operations (set by manager) and general production. Will have expert knowledge on all functions of entire unit as well as processes. Able to perform all job functions of the associates they lead.

Establishes and maintains appropriate files and records ensuring adherence to record retention schedules. Resolves exceptions and problems of an unusual nature, referring more complex problems to manager as necessary. Develops and prepares reports, records and performance monitoring mechanisms informing management of operational activities
Coordinates the operational activities for assigned functional areas. Ensures quality service and effective operations support for all of the assigned internal and external clients. Participates in the review and recommendation of operational systems and procedures affecting assigned units, coordinating system conversions from an operations perspective.
Provides training/mentoring and development to other team members.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: • Back-up for supervisor and/or manager - move resources, change priorities to meet deadlines as necessary, involving management as needed. Mentoring and training of Operations Associates; Providing associates with situational/individualized training when needed. • Manages day to day work flow for department. Organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activity, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. • Special projects as assigned; i.e. conversions, acquisitions, etc. Could be responsible for testing, leading projects depending on size of project. Expectation is to expand on project management skills to further develop management skills. • Called upon to resolve unusual or complex issues • May be responsible for scheduling. Adjust and repositions resources as necessary. Ensures that there are sufficient resources to complete daily goals. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job: • 2-3 years of experience in coaching and/or mentoring in an Operations department. Prior experience as an Operations Specialist is preferred. • Strong knowledge of operation functions, systems, policies and procedures for the assigned area • Must be approachable and comfortable working with a variety of associates that have varying backgrounds and qualifications • Needs to have ability to influence and motivate others • Thorough knowledge of computer applications and/or the equipment used in the assigned area • Good organizational, sound decision-making, and problem-solving skills • Comfortable making decisions on their own • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Can communicate effectively with varied personalities, can easily determine what needs to be communicated to management and what does not require management involvement. • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously. Drive for results (resolving issues) - takes pride and ownership of resolving complex/higher level issues • Seen as a true partner to the manager and supervisor. Provides management with input regarding employee performance. • Thorough knowledge of banking operations • 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. • Associate's or Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent operations banking work experience preferred.
