SUMMARY:

The Logistics Administrator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all aspects of the transportation of goods within the supply chain via Air Freight and Truck. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure all shipments are moved in compliance with all US laws and regulations. Candidate should be familiar with US Customs Import and Export, tariff codes, USMCA, AES, etc... IMPACT ON COMPANY OBJECTIVES: This position supports regulatory compliance best practices for inbound and outbound international and Domestic Air & Truck shipments, ensuring that freight is delivered in a timely manner and in good condition in compliance with all US laws and regulations. Operates in HII's best interest according to all HII rules, regulations, and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitor all International and Domestic Air & Truck shipments inbound and outbound daily.

2. Work with International and Domestic Air & Truck carriers, customs clearance agents, customs, US Department of Commerce, etc., and HII personnel to clear shipments urgently and deliver in a timely manner.

3. Prepares and processes insurance claims for lost or damaged goods in shipment.

4. Responsible for downloading as applicable and processing freight invoices ensuring they are coded correctly and billed in accordance with negotiated rates with each carrier's pricing agreement.

5. Disputes invoices with carriers as applicable.

6. Monitors carrier invoices are paid in a timely manner and coordinate with HII A/P to resolve past due carrier invoices.

7. Responsible for preparing statistical data for contract negotiations.

8. Prepares reports, presentations, etc... upon request.

9. Handles special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant field and/or a minimum of 3-5 years related to logistics, traffic, and compliance. Experience with coordinating domestic and international (import and export) shipments, customs clearance, and knowledge of harmonized tariff codes, duty, and taxes are required. Familiarity with FDA and CDRH regulations and reporting preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, reports, etc...

Ability to write clearly and effectively.

Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information one-on-one and in group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures, add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, dollars/foreign currency, common fractions, decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Ability to use formulas, graphs, pivot tables, macros, etc... is a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply skills and experience to carry out responsibilities and instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form successfully.

Ability to solve problems appropriately involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Must have solid work experience with International Air Freight both Import and Export.

• Proficient with MS Office and advanced skills in MS Excel.

. Experience/proficiency with SAP and Ship ERP or other Transportation Management Software (TMS) is very desirable.

• Must have strong analytical skills, be well organized, accurate, and able to multitask.

• Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow-through skills.

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
