This position will travel about 20-40 miles per day around Lincoln to support agencies in different locations. Location: Downtown Lincoln, NE

Schedule: There are two part-time Mail Courier positions available. One position will work 7:30am-11:30am and the other position will work 12:30pm-4:30pm.
Examples of Work
• Determine destination and means of dispatching mail, materials, or other items, determine postage and shipping costs, attach appropriate postage, and prepare shipping payments.
• Apply postal/commercial carrier regulations and employing agency/State policies to process/dispatch items, operates varied mail, materials, and/or merchandise equipment.
• Sort and distribute incoming and inter-agency mail for customers, as needed.
• Drive an 18' straight truck and cargo van to pick up and deliver mail on the mail routes, assist with shipping and receiving on the dock. This position will also sort and distribute incoming and inter-agency mail for customers, as needed.
• Perform customer service via telephone and customer counter contact.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in shipping and receiving, handling inventory, warehouse work, or processing mail OR Coursework or training in office support, shipping and receiving, warehouse, inventory, or mail processing practices and procedures.
PREFERRED: Experience driving and backing up a cargo van or straight truck and using forklifts and pallet jacks, both manual and electric. Experience in making delivery routes helpful. One year experience processing U.S.P.S. mail. Experience using a PC helpful.
OTHER: Must possess a valid Nebraska driver's license. Regular and reliable attendance is required for this position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have the ability to stand, bend, or stoop for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Must possess exceptional customer service skills and reasonable computer skills.
