JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Maintenance Manager

Position: Full Time, Exempt

Reports to: Vice President/General Manager

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quality and quantity while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. As manager of the department, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning and delegating tasks to the Maintenance Department and responsible for the end results of their team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member of the plant leadership team will participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant
  • Initiates, implements and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the plastic injection mold industry with emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventative/predictive maintenance
  • Manage repairs of maintenance and production equipment, monitors the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment per production/budgetary goals
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel, ensure technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so maintenance goals can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Assist in hiring of maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for the training, development, and mentoring of new Maintenance employees and direct reports
  • Participates and manages the Corporate Annual Performance Reviews for direct reports
  • Ensures city, county, state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times including all OSHA procedures and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Five years maintenance supervisory/management experience required.
  • Positive attitude - Maintains positive outlook while working through obstacles
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Effective communicator with all levels of organizations and types of customers both verbally and written
  • Leadership - Action oriented with ability to act independently, analyze a situation, recommend ideas and build consensus for solutions
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Self-starter, high level of initiative and goal oriented
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong and proven record of mechanical ability and knowledge
