Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observing and giving feedback and recognition to fellow employees, contractors and visitors on safe or unsafe behaviors.
• Participating and regular Health and Safety meetings.
• Taking all practicable steps to work safely at all times and ensuring others to also.
• Ensuring the accurate reporting and recording of all health and safety incidents, near misses, good catches, or hazards in a timely fashion using company procedures and systems.
• Adhering to all Graymont policies, principles and procedures.
• Ensuring you have completed all relevant health and safety training.
• Respond to MSHA requests for action in a timely manner.
• Maintain all plant stationary and mobile equipment

Environmental

• Being aware of environmental requirements at the site, and to adopt common sense environmental practices.
• Complying with all Graymont policies
• Acting in accordance with operating procedures relating to minimizing environmental impacts
• Taking all reasonable precautions to prevent risks to the environment, advising management promptly of any risks, problems or accidents which might arise.

Maintenance Services

• Execution of assigned weekly/daily work orders including schedule breakers
• Closing work orders in JDE and providing good reference notes in the attachments.
• Routinely inspect work areas,implement preventative maintenance activities and bringing major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor for action.
• Implement and/or provide support to new projects.
• Help prepare reports for consolidation with production and maintenance.
• Establishing and maintaining good working contacts and relationships with service providers to ensure a continuous pool of contractors in the plant.
• Conduct housekeeping to work areas and seeing to it that raw materials and products are free from debris to avoid contamination
• Actively participate "on call" and correct maintenance issues at night, weekends, and holidays
• Cover shifts and work overtime as needed
• Recommending new initiatives that will help improve production processes and procedures.
• Help manage contractors in the execution of project seeing to it that jobs are carried out safely, efficiently and at the lowest possible costs
• Help assess contractors in their performance as to time, quality and cost of the project and their safety performance.

Other duties:

• Duties may be varied from time to time consistent with the employee's training and skills and such varied duties are to be performed to standards that will be specified as required.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Millwright Certification and or 5+ years in industrial maintenance experience
• Strong analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work rotating shifts or weekends as required.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is essential, along with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Valid Driver License
• The incumbent must be prepared to travel as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
• Strong computer skills, familiar with MS Office programs and JDE,
• Qualified to perform lock out, tag out, and proven positive safety record
• Positive attitude towards automation and proven support of remote operations.
• Ability to provide required tools
