Responsible for supervising personnel and activities in the maintenance department. This includes compliance with procedures of DFA as well as outside agencies and customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operation of assigned maintenance technicians according to cost and quality standards in the department.
  • Develop and implement training plans for mechanics to enhance their skills.
  • Schedule and assign tasks and/or work orders
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels to ensure efficient support of plant operations
  • Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • Coach and develop teammates, utilizing the performance management system.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma/GED required; Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • At least five (5) years experience in manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisor experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid working knowledge of refrigeration, electricity/pneumatic, motor controls, building maintenance, plumbing and HVAC
  • Experience with processing and packaging equipment and electronic control systems
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley Controls
  • Effective written/oral communication
  • Understand the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
  • Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with all employees, supervisors and managers
  • Must demonstrate enthusiastic attitude towards leading change and implementation of systematic processes required to achieve maintenance objectives, which directly support manufacturing excellence
  • Shift: Nights 6pm - 6:30 am (24/7 operation) 2-2-3 rotation
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
