POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Kalamazoo Sr Manager - Planning and Inventory, manages team of Material Buyers to support Kalamazoo site production requirements. In addition, creates standards, KPI's and reporting to support material buying process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads team of material buyers for Kalamazoo Site; develops KPIs and tools to improve material buying process
  • Oversees inventory for Raw, Pack, API and Finished Goods and drive process improvement and standard ways of working
  • Manages cycle count, annual Wall-to-Wall, distressed inventory, and inventory optimization work - ensures inventory strategy is aligned to site growth and overall Zoetis goals
  • Establishes and publishes relevant metrics that accurately reflect site material availability and identify focus areas for improvement. Optimize the generation of metric reporting, utilizing the system to efficiently plan and to optimize buying execution.
  • Other duties, as assigned

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong knowledge and extensive practical experience of supply chain concepts, including but not limited to material buying, inventory optimization, and cycle counting
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience in developing process standards and reporting tools for tracking KPIs
  • Strong experience in SAP, previous material buying experience a MUST

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Management or related discipline and minimum of 7 years related experience
  • Demonstrated managerial skills to direct material buyers to achieve objectives
  • Strong knowledge of material buying and inventory optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make timely decisions when data is incomplete or conflicting
  • Ability to understand and use Lean & RFT concepts and applications to resolve problems and improve our processes
  • Preferred: Certified leadership skills in Production and Inventory Management (APICS, CPIM)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
