SUMMARY

The Maintenance Representative is responsible for the efficient and economical performance of all assigned maintenance personnel. He is also responsible for all items relating to airworthiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:

  • Supervise all aircraft maintenance activities or any other mainte­nance functions assigned to him to ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with Amerijet Maintenance Manuals and established policies and procedures.
  • Supervise assigned maintenance personnel to ensure safe, on-time completion of all work assigned and to provide serviceable airworthy aircraft for scheduled operations.
  • Direct all maintenance activities performed by his work section to ensure discipline, efficient utilization of assigned personnel, quantity and quality of production, and cleanliness of facilities during the shifts.
  • Maintain work shift log of all work in progress, completed, or carried over. Perform proper inter shift tie-in procedure.
  • Ensure assigned personnel are qualified to perform the mainte­nance function assigned to them. Increase assigned personnel technical knowledge wherever possible.
  • Effectively coordinate with Maintenance and Quality Control as required.
  • Establish working schedules of all assigned personnel that will be adequate for the required production schedule.
  • Review logbook on all arriving aircraft at this station and determine if any maintenance is required and if so, obtain necessary parts, equipment and manpower to accomplish said work and return aircraft to airworthy status.
  • Supervise the fueling as accomplished by Fuel Coordinators and ensure that it is performed in accordance with Amerijet Fueling Manual.
  • Ensure that all records and reports that are required by Maintenance are maintained and sent at appropriate times.
  • Works with various engineering groups on aircraft upgrade problems and requests for major repairs
  • Ensures that contractual stipulations are being met, reviews, and pursues all warranties there within.
  • Accountable for providing on-the-site support for all scheduled and unscheduled major work performance, checks, and upgrades at the various repair stations.
  • Works with Quality Control to determine the feasibility of Airworthy Directives terminations versus repetitive inspections in planning heavy maintenance checks.
  • Ensure that Maintenance Control and down line stations are aware of any maintenance problems leaving this station, giving as much information as possible to help expedite repairs
  • Liaison between Amerijet International and the various repair stations, keeping the company informed regularly on the aircraft work status, new developments or adversities and their effects on the maintenance schedule.
  • Supervise assigned contract maintenance personnel to ensure safe, on-time completion of all work assigned and to provide service­able airworthy aircraft for scheduled operations.
  • Direct all maintenance activities performed by contract labor to ensure efficient utilization of assigned personnel, quality, and quantity of production.
  • Ensure contract labor personnel are qualified to perform the mainte­nance functions assigned to them. Increase contract laborer's technical knowledge whenever possible.
  • When approved and authorized by the Director of Mainte­nance, Maintenance Representatives will perform assigned inspection functions IAW the Company maintenance manual inspection procedures. When assigned this duty, the Maintenance Representatives will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Quality Control, with duties and responsibilities as outlined in the GMM title "Inspector."
  • Ensures the quality of work and proper documentation, making, if applicable, the necessary corrections prior to work completion.
  • Ensures and coordinates the provision of the required parts and materials to the repair station, which in turn keeps costs down and helps to prevent maintenance work delays or stoppage.
  • Ensures the required 121 FAR’s and AD’s are being performed in accordance with FAA policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with the maintenance planner to ensure that the correct work scope for all aspects of the check is at the worksite prior to the plane’s arrival.
  • Prior to payment, reviews all bills submitted to ensure accuracy and non-duplication.
  • Works with scheduling and maintenance control to coordinate test flights.
  • Accountable for the control and security of company property on the job site.
  • Works with both maintenance and quality control in devising programs to reduce both cost and time without sacrificing work integrity.
  • Provides maintenance control with accurate information from the various repair stations for budget estimations for future projects and checks.

JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  • Manage all aircraft maintenance activities or any other mainte­nance functions assigned to his section to ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with Amerijet Maintenance Manuals and established policies and procedures.
  • Representative between Amerijet International and the various repair stations, keeping the company informed regularly on the aircraft work status, new developments or adversities, and their effects on the maintenance schedule.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control to determine the feasibility of Airworthy Directives terminations versus repetitive inspections in planning heavy maintenance checks.
  • Coordinates with the maintenance planner to ensure that the correct work scope for all aspects of the check is at the work site prior to the plane’s arrival.
  • Works with both Maintenance and Quality Control in devising programs to reduce both cost and time without sacrificing work integrity.
  • Controls departmental expenses and headcount to achieve Pre-Determined Cost levels as a percentage of revenues.
  • Evaluates performance on all contact facilities, service, and personnel.
  • Ensures that all Company policies and procedures (including governmental and safety) and Standard Operating Procedures are enforced and adhered to by all personnel.
  • Ensures that all data collection is accurate and submitted on a timely basis. Also ensures that all reports are accurate and submitted on a timely basis.
  • Maintains proper communication channels with personnel within the Department by consistently holding meetings and participating in other meetings as required by supervisors. Is well prepared for all meetings by documenting agendas, minutes, and follows up to ensure worthwhile results.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Power plant Certification and two-years prior experience in Aircraft Maintenance.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; able to read, decipher and communicate findings of wiring diagrams schematizes, and complex aircraft regulatory documents
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years of B-727 experience as a Maintenance Controller and/ or as an Aircraft Mechanic, preferably in a line, or transit, capacity.
  • Prior supervisor experience or lead mechanic experience required.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to conduct interviews, hire, and train employees
  • Ability to plan, assign, and direct work objectives
  • Ability to appraise performance, reward and discipline employees
  • Ability to address complaints and resolve problems
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Amerijet policies and acceptable laws.
  • Ability to directly supervises 5 to 10 Maintenance Controllers and Outstation Mechanics

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Job duties include but are not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting (including wrists), reaching below and overhead, standing for long periods, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting heavy items. Warehouse climate conditions are subject to change without notice.

Mental, visual, and auditory acuity necessary to work with or near moving mechanical parts (i.e., cooler, dock equipment), in high, precarious places (i.e., ladder work), and cold/hot climate conditions. Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to: computers, human voices, sound systems, and machinery.

TRAVEL

This position may require traveling to domestic or international locations.
