Job Description Summary:
As part of PayPal's Corporate Affairs organization, the Leadership Communications team is responsible for developing and executing strategic executive engagement programs that showcase the company's impact and thought leadership, as well as engage key stakeholders to grow PayPal's reputation globally. This newly-created role will report to the Director of Leadership Communications overseeing communications for our Risk and Platforms business, and will partner across the Corporate Affairs function to support the execution of a holistic communications program (internally and externally) for Risk and Platforms and its senior leaders.

The successful candidate will leverage strong subject matter expertise and written/verbal communication skills, as well as strategy development and project management capabilities, to further the proactive thought leadership and employee communications strategies for Risk and Platforms. As a new team member dedicated to communications for the Risk and Platforms business, this individual will have the opportunity to develop new strategies that further position PayPal as a market leader in key areas, while also fostering further employee engagement throughout PayPal's largest business unit. This includes (but isn't limited to) the development/continued evolution of the integrated communications strategy; consistently excellent execution on all executive engagements inside and outside the company; development/continued evolution of narratives/messaging; increased formalization of employee communications for various leaders across the business unit; and ongoing monitoring/evaluation. This role will also collaborate across the full breadth of the Corporate Affairs team to support cross-functional initiatives, including organizational announcements and signature internal milestones, and ensure that this program is both integrated with and helps to advance our various global Communications priorities and reputation goals.

Job Description:

Responsibilities to Include
  • Support the Director of Leadership Communications in servicing the communications needs, internal and external, of the Risk and Platforms Leadership Team. This includes being a communications support partner for engagements involving PayPal's Chief Risk Officer, as well as a primary communications partner for other senior leaders across Risk and Platforms
  • Research new external opportunities (inbound requests and proactive outlook), and continually build/maintain relationships with key contacts.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of forward-looking leadership communications plans (by executive and aligned to key business objectives) and track/support progress toward successful execution. Continually apply key learnings and update/refresh as necessary, as well as maintain continuity across other team strategies/plans.
  • Develop wide-range of communications materials (often on quick turn-around) including briefing materials and messaging, thought leadership and social media content, internal organizational announcements, and strategic recommendations and recaps, in an ongoing manner
  • Consistently collaborate across other key Corporate Affairs teams - including but not limited to Employee Communications, Reputation Management and Human Resources - to ensure strategic integration and consistency, as well as maximize opportunities
  • Serve as a resource and driver for key internal communications events, including organizational announcements, events, and milestones
  • Serve as knowledge hub for extended team by centralizing templates, best practices and key materials, and ensuring key collaborators across the organization (particularly globally) can leverage for their needs
  • Help develop and institute new approaches to measure/analyze the impact of our work toward key business and corporate reputation goals
  • Prepare and support executive leaders and partner with outside agencies as necessary

JobRequirements
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in communications or related field
  • Previous experience working across other communications channels/disciplines (e.g., media relations, speech writing, digital/social media, etc.) - agency experience recommended, but not required
  • Demonstrated understanding of landscape and trends in the leadership communications and employee engagement spaces, as well as key relationships of relevance in our space
  • Previous communications experiencein related subject matters a plus, including risk management and financial crime, regulatory engagement and compliance, emerging risk as a service business models, or information security
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a strong attention to detail
  • Highly collaborative - builds strong relationships internally and externally with positive/can-do attitude
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - thinks creatively and outside the box, brings outside-in thinking to every project, and always figures out a way to get things done
  • Global orientation - experience in an international market recommended, but not required
  • Connection to PayPal's brand and commitment to PayPal's mission, vision and values
  • Bachelor's degree required
