Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

This position is responsible for serving as the Cougar Athletic Fund's events and hospitality manager; provides leadership and planning for events and activities designed to promote Athletics fundraising strategies and cultivate donor relations. This position is also responsible for the execution of partnership experience of all event-related sponsorships. This position will support and execute stewardship for major fundraising events and donors post-event.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Experience leading and/or directing the work of other individuals.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Work experience that demonstrates strong collaboration and teamwork.

  • Demonstrated skill in organization and meet deadlines while managing completing priorities.

  • Must be able and willing to travel, including overnight.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

  • Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver's license by time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fundraising experience in the university/higher education environment.

  • Event planning, fundraising, sponsorship sales, marketing, or related work experience within intercollegiate athletics.

  • Work experience that demonstrates excellent written communication skills.

  • Strong computer capabilities and familiarity with spreadsheets and database systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, alumni/donor applications, E-mail).

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and react quickly and efficiently.
