Job Summary

Comcast is looking for a passionate, consumer centric and talented Manager of Pricing & Packaging Insights to support our growing Consumer Research & Insights function and ultimately set the organization up to be more Consumer-Centric. This individual will support Design and Development of Pricing Research, serving the Entertainment (Video) and Connectivity (Broadband, Mobile, Home) product portfolio. The role will report into the Senior Director of Product Insights. This position will work closely and collaboratively with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Strategy, and the Technology and Product Experience teams. The Manager will actively enable research-informed decision-making through supporting the assessment of business problems and crafting a research approach that delivers on actionable insights. The candidate will serve as a strategic business partner, design research, select vendor partners, communicate and align on approach to ensure that key business questions and needs are addressed. The candidate will be working on a variety of topics such as: pricing, packaging, price sensitivity, purchase intent, downgrade behavior, consumer target identification, product development & commercialization. This candidate must have a proven track record of leading, designing & executing quantitative research, and translating insights and implications into actionable business recommendations

Job Description

  • Work with Product Stakeholders and Pricing & Packaging team to understand key business questions and consumer research needs

  • Manage a diverse range of consumer research projects, supporting the Entertainment (Video) and Connectivity (Broadband, Mobile, Home) product portfolio as needed

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of quantitative research initiatives

  • Manage quarterly tracking studies including purchase intent, price sensitivity analysis, downgrade behavior

  • Manage external vendors through all phases of research projects

  • Deliver research results, key takeaways, and actionable insights through compelling storytelling

  • Stay current on industry trends, and seek new ways to utilize research to support Company initiatives

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages and guides Marketing Research Analysts and Representatives within the Market Research & Planning team.
  • Works with the VP, Director and cross-functional VPs and Directors in creation and implementation of research training modules.
  • Manages the execution of research projects and provides reports/summaries of findings.
  • Interprets market research data, analyzes market and product trends, customer insights and strategy and makes recommendations to business based on findings.
  • Assists to perform periodic performance reviews and provides feedback, coaching and disciplinary action.
  • Identifies and stays current on new trends and seeks new ways to utilize research to support Company initiatives.
  • Oversees the research of target markets, ratings and market responses to programs and campaigns.
  • Manages market research budget.
  • Works with divisions and regions to design data collection methods and analysis processes.
  • Oversees vendor management and works to ensure that consistent quality control and project objectives are met.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience (hands-on quantitative research experience is required)

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Capability to synthesize data from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations

  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder teams - capability to prioritize among multiple parts of the business and projects

  • Strong sense of urgency to deliver answers and consolidated POVs, working to get in-the-moment insights to drive real-time informed decisions

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • A can-do attitude - proactively comes to any situation with ideas

  • Experience managing vendor relationships

  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced rapidly evolving environment
