Manager Quality Operations DESCRIPTION:

  • The manager will be responsible for quality operations and specialized projects.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for development and reporting of various metrics to assure that management in Operations & QO are aware of project status.
  • The manager will be accountable for the efficiency, accuracy and service levels of unit personnel and is expected to support daily operations and budget.
  • The manager will also be expected to initiate & lead improvement projects and laboratory investigations.
  • The manager is expected to learn and manage other responsibilities as assigned.
  • The manager will act as an integral part of onsite audits by customers and regulatory bodies, including review of analytical data, providing overviews of lab systems, CAPA identification and closure, etc.
  • The manager will have responsibility for supporting QC programs, including cleaning validation and reference standard characterization.
  • The successful candidate should be familiar with electronic systems used within the QC laboratories; SAP, Empower, Minitab, TrackWise, Veeva Vault.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or relevant science discipline with a minimum of 5 years, or MS degree.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred; a passion for people management & development is a must.
  • This position requires an excellent working knowledge of chemistry techniques (HPLC, UPLC, dissolution, KF, GC, etc.) used in the pharmaceutical testing laboratory; experience related to testing sterile injectables and oral solid dose formulations is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience with chemistry test method validation preferred.
  • A general knowledge of pharmaceutical stability requirements and shelf life/trending analysis is preferred; ability to work cross functionally with remote internal customers in operations and regulatory is key to running the department successfully.
  • The successful candidate must possess the ability to work with a sense of urgency using analytical methods that may require further development and refinement to meet cGMP standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, as well as strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills are critical. This position requires leadership/project management ability and a dedication to meeting timelines.
  • Job duties involve occasional lifting (less than 35 lbs), reaching, and sitting while working at computer terminal.
  • The candidate cannot be sensitive to penicillin or cephalosporins
