The Role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the Real World Evidence (RWE) analytics of a high growth organization. The Manager of RWE analytics will be involved in observational studies and multi-disciplinary real-world data analyses across Moderna's programs that are leveraging cutting-edge mRNA science to create transformative medicines for patients.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Partner with cross-functional groups such as Epidemiology, Clinical, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcome Research, Digital, etc., to support the development and execution of RWE strategies and to develop real world data (RWD) based solution to enable disease insights, improve patient outcomes and enhance clinical development
  • Support the development of research protocols for RWD analysis from claims, electronic health records, registries, etc.
  • Conduct feasibility assessment and exploratory analysis of different RWD sources to ensure fit-for-purpose selection of RWD
  • Serve as the analytical methodology expert for RWE data analyses across various data types and applications
  • Select and implement appropriate analytical methods including statistical models and/or machine learning models to align with overall business objectives
  • Establish effective communication with various internal stakeholders to understand and support RWE analytics
  • Collaborate with and manage vendors, to ensure meeting project timelines and goals

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • PhD (or equivalent degree) in statistics or related fields with 2+ years or master with 4+ years of relevant working experience in Biotech, Pharma, Regulatory agencies, or Clinical Research Organizations. Experiences working in oncology, vaccine/infectious disease, and rare disease is preferred.
  • Understanding of epidemiology or outcomes research and the application of retrospective or prospective observational studies to generate RWE
  • Strong track records in data analysis and building advanced analytical models using statistics and/or machine learning
  • High level of competency using standard statistical software such as R, Python, and/or SAS and database programming language such as SQL.
  • Experience with various healthcare databases such as claims, EHR, etc.
  • Operational excellence mindset with the ability of applying the knowledge to solve scientific and clinical problems
  • Working knowledge of relevant FDA, EU, ICH guidelines and regulations
  • Experience working with and overseeing CROs, vendors, and relationship management preferred
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
