Overview

Supervises and manages the work of assigned team members; responsible for outcomes and performance of the investigators and support functions within their scope of responsibility. This position manages primarily exempt investigators, and some support administrative non-exempt individuals. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Takes a positive approach to tackling work and embraces change; invites feedback relating to performance and deals constructively with criticism.
  2. Applies and coaches on investigation and regulatory best practices, ensuring work is performed in a timely and accurate basis.
  3. Understands and anticipates requirements and takes action to provide high-quality investigative services to exceed expectations.
  1. Uses judgment and critical thinking to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems and procedures, impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the department.
  2. Plans work and sets clear priorities; upholds ethical standards and fulfills commitments while maintaining high levels of work output.
  3. Shows appreciation for how others are feeling and listens attentively; works well within a team, acknowledging people's different needs and valuing the positive contribution each person makes.
  4. Conveys a clear sense of self-confidence and belief in own capacity to influence future events; works well under pressure, staying calm and composed; deals with emotional individuals and disagreements effectively.
  5. Instills confidence and trust by demonstrating dependability and reliability.
  6. Collaborates closely with underwriting, audit and claims personnel to evaluate all aspects of a referral and determine an investigative path, and documents investigative plan.
  7. Tracks and documents all investigative activities and results
  8. Monitor completed investigations for impacts and prosecutorial judgements.
  9. Demonstrates an understanding of the organization and its product/service offerings and leverages organizational values and relationships in ensuring tasks are accomplished.
  10. Responsible for coaching, training and performance management of assigned employees.
  11. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field from an accredited college or university; or
  • Five years of insurance claims investigation experience or professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies, or
  • Seven years of professional investigation experience
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial casualty, property, automobile, and workers' compensation insurance products.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze large amounts of data and make an informed, calculated decisions
  • Respect for confidential information
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced and changing environment, willingness to learn and adjust to achieve business goals while leading others.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
