Managing Director, Business Development Asset Management
Job Description Summary
The primary responsibility of the role is to identify opportunities and develop relationships with real estate investors and investment consultants in multiple market channels.
Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and cultivates both domestic and international prospects and/or clients
  • Initiates and follows up on new business opportunities.
  • Leads new business meetings and closes sales to investors and consultants.
  • Leverages the organization's relationship with existing accounts by developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with sub-advisors and consultants.
  • Acts as a liaison to the investment management groups to ensure active, enthusiastic support of the sales and marketing process.
  • Collaborates with Marketing team on sales collateral to ensure they are current and focused for the applicable presentation, conference, or opportunity.
  • Works closely with Asset Management team members to further develop sales opportunities including identifying gaps versus competitive offerings.
  • 50% Travel
Experience & Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Minimum 10 years of professional working experience.
  • Relevant experience in Real Estate Asset/Investment Management or Financial Services is strongly preferred.
  • A strong base of institutional client contacts, including family offices, foundations, endowments, pension funds, fund of funds, and high net worth individuals.
  • Must have excellent sales skills and in-depth product and broad investment knowledge.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial drive and self-initiative
  • Experience in developing marketing plans and responses to RFP's
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to close business
  • Deep understanding of the financial markets and investment vehicles

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree. MBA and/or CFA preferred
