The Manufacturing Development Technician is a key member of the Technical Innovation & Development team. Under the direction of the technical manager or T&I Engineer, the manufacturing development technician will provide general support to the members of the technical innovation and development team. This includes hands-on executions in development of new manufacturing processes for new products or performance improvement of existing products. Development activities include both cast and powder products.

You Will Have the Opportunity To:

  • Execute designed tests to produce new cast and powder products.
  • Set up and run various R&D and production machines, including vacuum casting, hot and cold rolling, heat treating, cutting or blending of the powders and various methods of powder consolidation.
  • Collect required material samples and submit to the Analytical Laboratory for analysis.
  • Review and discuss with technical manager or R&D Engineer manufacturing processes.
  • Document all processes, procedures, and product specifications, including the development and entry of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routes using appropriate software programs.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma required, Associates degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in production or R&D environment required. 3+ years experience in production or R&D environment preferred.
  • Experience with casting, rolling or powder production processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Solidworks, or other CAD software preferred.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; stand, talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from approval for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
