Summary: Under close supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer intern provides production support for products manufactured within assigned value streams, and supports continuous improvement of processes used to manufacture these products. Duties and responsibilities are entry-level and low in complexity.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Interface with ERP System (SAP) to prepare new and revise existing manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture and test instruments.
  • Solve day to day manufacturing problems, implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and incorporate suggestions to improve manufacturing workflow.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality problems and customer complaints.
  • Respond to corrective actions and feedback that relates to the production floor to solve customer needs.
  • Participate in structured problem solving (8-D) teams and Kaizen events in assigned area.

    Qualifications:
  • Sophomore grade level or higher, pursuing a BS degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or similar.
  • Maintain a minimum CUM 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale).
  • Be legally authorized to work in the USA.
  • Strong desire to learn, self-motivated.
  • Naturally high attention to detail, good organization skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) packages preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics, blue prints, and CAD drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Analytical, decision making, problem solving and research skills.
  • College level language, math, reading, writing and reasoning skills.
  • Knows and understands basic manufacturing engineering concepts and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
