Job Summary & Job Duties:

Coating Tech Role

The Coating technician supports the optical thin film process.

Duties will include operating vacuum coating chambers by performing measurements, calibration, and data analysis while maintaining a safe and orderly workspace. We are seeking a coating technician with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our thin film deposition team to meet goals and manufacture superior products. Strong attention to safety, detail, accuracy, and quality.

Job Duties

• Maintain and operate coating chambers through proper setup and monitoring
• Monitors deposition data, relaying abnormalities to Supervisor, Engineering, or Coworkers
• Works as a team player supporting all shift work activities
• Troubleshoot problems in the vacuum coating process
• Follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
• Assemble fixtures and tooling
• Perform product and machine inspection
• Use Excel/Email/O365 and manufacturing communication programs
• Adhere to safety policies and proper use of PPE

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Basic math
• Computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude / interests
• Work on their own with limited supervision
• Can multitask
• Comfortable working on a computer
• Excel/Email/O365 experience
• Some college coursework and/or an Associate Degree in mechanical, physical sciences, engineering technology or electronics field
• Parts disposition experience a plus
