Manufacturing Technician - Final Quality Inspection

Job Summary & Job Duties:

FQI Role

The FQI technician supports the optical thin film process.

Duties will include using microscopes and digital equipment to inspect materials for defects as a vital part of the product's final process. We are seeking technicians with high standards for quality. Including good interpersonal and communication skills to join our thin film deposition team to meet goals and manufacture superior products. Strong attention to safety, detail, accuracy, and quality.

Job Duties

  • Inspect optical components using microscopes and digital equipment
  • Follow established department guidelines for CARs, QMS and RMAs
  • Maintain logs
  • Handle small parts
  • Assembly
  • Works as a team player supporting all shift work activities
  • Follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Perform machine inspection and calibration
  • Excel/Email/O365 and manufacturing communication programs
  • Adhere to safety policies and proper use of PPE
  • Accomplish tasks in accordance with OSHA, 5S, and ISO 9001-2008 standards
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Basic math
  • Computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient with use of microscope and small precision hand tools
  • Work on their own with limited supervision
  • Can multitask
  • Comfortable working on a computer
  • Excel/Email/O365 experience
  • Previous small parts visual inspection, assembly, or handling a plus

  • Will sit 90% of time / stand 10% of time
  • Use of solvents and cleaning substances
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds of weight on occasion
  • Clarity of vision to see close and mid-range. Wear safety glasses
  • Temperature is moderate within work environment
  • The noise level in the manufacturing environment is moderate, but occasionally can be loud
