With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Technician II - 2nd Shift.

This position is scheduledto work Monday through Thursday 3:30PM - 2:00AM.
This position will be trainedon first shift.

Position Summary

The purpose of this Manufacturing Tech II position is to process components through the liner process utilizing a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement tools.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for setting up and operating machinery in support of the production process
  • Performs operations per specifications on drawing/print and documented procedures
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (i.e. utility knife) and machines (i.e. sandblaster, speed lathe)
  • Ability to read blue prints/engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication and team work skills
  • Complete daily production logs as required
  • Complete required equipment maintenance checks
  • Responsible for complying with internal quality systems and procedures.
  • Works closely with all manufacturing and engineering personnel
  • Provides continuous improvement ideas verbally and in writing
  • Performs any other duties of equal or lower classification on a temporary basis as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School education or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment or related experience.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must follow detailed instructions, do accurate work at a rapid pace and meet scheduling deadlines
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to carry out complex, repetitive tasks quickly and methodically
  • Available to work overtime as required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, and reach above shoulder level. The employee must be able to carry/lift up to 40 pounds and be able to rotate item being handled.
  • Work on feet for entire shift
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • The ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace and to follow detailed instructions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must be able to quickly comprehend industry-related technical terms.
  • Solid basic math skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous mechanical or other manufacturing experience preferred
  • Autoclave and/or Sandblast experience is a plus
  • Experience with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers)
  • Ability to read part drawings (flag notes, dimensions, tolerances)
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision
