We are currently seeking an individual interested in expanding their insurance career in Ocean Cargo claims handling, while working closely with a team of individuals with varied backgrounds and experiences.You will also learn how to effectively manage your claims caseload from assignment through resolution, and in accordance with Zurich's best practices and authority limits. This role will report to one of the following Zurich offices: Schaumburg, IL / Atlanta, GA / Addison, TX / Maitland,FL / Rancho Cordova, CA

This is an opportunity to develop your technical skill set in policy interpretation and coverage analysis. In this role, you will be expected to collaborate and develop partnerships with internal and external points of contact including customers, vendors, suppliers and brokers to provide a quality claims experience.

At Zurich North America (ZNA), the Marine Claims organization is dedicated to helping our customers mitigate commercial property and business interruption losses related to structural building damages and content losses as a result of weather events, theft, water or flood damages, and vandalism. Our purpose is to get our customers back on their feet and operational as quickly as possible.

  • Invest in your career development through the attainment of adjuster state licenses, or insurance designations and coursework

  • Develop partnerships across organizational levels and functions

  • Occasional business travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area
    OR

  • 1 or more years in the Zurich North America Claims Foundational Training Program
    OR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 2 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area
    OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area
    OR

  • Juris Doctor and 1 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling or Insurance area
    AND

  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)

  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience collaborating across work groups

  • Organization skills and time management skills

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Experience with Xm8, Xactimate, Xact or Xactanalysis

  • Experience with Marine Cargo Claims
