We are looking for a Market Intelligence Manager to help us explore new markets, research new offering categories, and share your insights with the larger organization. As an individual contributor within the Market Strategy team, you will be based in Cambridge, MA, and work closely with, and be assisted by, the Product teams, regional Sales and Marketing teams across the world, and Corporate Marketing.

You will work closely with the market intelligence team to develop reports for the internal InterSystems team, as well as conduct primary research and derive insights about InterSystems customers and prospects.

Overall

  • This role utilizes data and analytics from internal and external sources to inform marketing strategies, assist with client retention and expansion efforts, and identify market and client trends, among other tasks.
  • A successful person in this role would apply consulting and market intelligence processes and best practices to develop actionable insights for our marketing, product and sales teams. They will work collaboratively with the Marketing, Sales, and Finance to gather and synthesize insight on industries, markets, competitors, individuals, and other topics of interest.

Responsibilities

You will work on various projects including Healthcare (15% of the time), Supply Chain (15% of time), Innovation projects (15%), Financial Services (15%), and Data Platforms (40%).

Market Intelligence Research and Data Analysis
  • Gather data from various sources/databases to compile intelligence briefings, including (but not limited to) customer organization profiles, buyer segmentation and classification, and emerging segments
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and benchmarking research as well as sales training on competitive trends in key segments
  • Assist in the management of market research partners
  • Develop market and competitive assets for Sales
  • Assist with other reporting and data analysis projects as needed

Visualization and Sharing of Intelligence
  • Leverage business intelligence tools (Power BI) to deliver visual insights to decision makers
  • Develop client-facing reports, newsletters, infographics and other deliverables
  • Give presentations and training sessions on research findings; comfort presenting to C-level executives required

Consulting and Business Planning
  • Work with the innovation program team to develop research, advice and analysis for innovation projects, sometimes with short turn around times
  • Guide business transformation within the organization
  • Establish and drive new processes to effectively scale the market intelligence team

Experience and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in market research, consulting, or analytics roles; OR an MBA, Masters of Marketing Analytics, or other Masters degree with equivalent coursework experience.
  • Experience in consulting, venture capital, or equivalent academic experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to learn new tools and technologies
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, including manipulating large datasets
  • Preference given to candidates with Power BI experience
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative work
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written communication (writing sample required if interviewed)
  • Comfort with project-based work and a split between independent and team-based projects
  • Flexible schedule, ability to accommodate meetings in various time zones (less than 25% of your time)
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple complex projects at a time, manage time constraints, and meet deadlines
