About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

Provides administrative support for the development, implementation, and execution of programs, special projects, and other
initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the department and support of faculty.
Responsible for strategically developing, executing and analyzing recruiting and marketing initiatives to increase prospect
engagement and application submissions. Organizes and attends recruiting engagements and orientations for EPL
programs which may include out of town/state travel. Direct support of the Ed.D. programs, departmental events. Fields and
directs departmental phone calls & visitors.

Essential Functions:

  • Operational activity for the department includes working with the Directors and under the supervision of the Senior
    Program Specialist in developing an annual marketing and recruiting plan for all events, social, digital and print media for the M.Ed. and Ed.D. programs. Process involves regular social media content on Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn, etc., working with internal partners for creative/graphic & web development, develop quarterly newsletters, identify in-person and other digital marketing/recruitment opportunities, coordinate information sessions and alumni outreach opportunities. Assist in design and maintenance of departmental website. Develop quarterly engagement data reports for appropriate tracking and monitoring of campaign's performance for real-time optimization. Ensure all outbound content meets University style and standards.
  • Manages the Ed.D. weekends including budgeting and arrangement of food services from University approved
    contractors and other private sources, direct support set up of meals, guest speakers, and other miscellaneous activities for Ed.D. weekends. This position will require 13 to 15 work weekends during the calendar in direct support of events and the Ed.D. program.
  • Assist in departmental and Simmons wide events. Fields and directs departmental phone calls &visitors.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree is required.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience is required. Candidate with experience in marketing and recruiting, customer relations, project planning, event planning is desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must possess strong problem solving skills, with the ability to be resourceful, proactive, and seek assistance as
needed. Must also possess the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Candidate must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
