SRG Global is seeking a Material Coordinator, also known as a Water Spider, or Production Coordinator. This role plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of materials and supplies in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Our Team

at SRG Global in Covington Georgia manufactures chrome plated plastic parts for the automotive, commercial truck and household appliance industries. We are headquartered in Troy, Michigan with manufacturing operations in major world markets across North America, Europe, and Asia.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Transport materials, components, and supplies between storage areas, production lines, and workstations using manual or powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to prevent stockouts and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed
  • Proactively replenish materials and supplies at point-of-use locations based on production schedules, consumption rates, and kanban signals
  • Ensure that production lines have a continuous supply of materials to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for optimizing material flow, layout, and storage methods
  • Inspect materials and supplies for damage, defects, or discrepancies upon receipt and during replenishment activities
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure that only acceptable materials are used in production
  • Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while handling materials and operating equipment
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation related to material transactions, inventory movements, and replenishment activities
  • Update inventory systems and production records in a timely manner to reflect current stock levels and transactions

Who you are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Ability to operate a computer for data entry and inventory management
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

What Will Put You Ahead:
  • Forklift Experience
  • Experience using MRP/ERP
  • Familiar with logistics concepts like: pull systems, kanban, replenishment systems, minimum order quantities, and material lead times.
