JOB SUMMARY
Fills supply requisitions from stock and delivers requisitioned supplies and equipment to various departments, following established procedures. Unloads daily shipments and places stock in appropriate location. Assists with low unit of measure and Kan Ban ordering and put away. Periodically conducts cycle counts on available stock and verifies count with inventory control totals. Maintains and updates as needed storeroom locations to meet customer demand.

JOB DUTIES
1. Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
3. Receives requisitions, notes supplies and equipment needed and fills orders for various departments. Notifies supervisor of out of stock items.
4. Operates a variety of mechanical equipment such as pallet jack, hydraulic lift and hand cart to move supplies and equipment.
5. Opens boxes when shipments arrive and places incoming stock in appropriate space on shelves. Rotates stock by expiration date.
6. Builds supply PAR (periodic automatic replenishment) and Kan Ban locations as directed
7. Ensures receiving and storage areas, storage shelves are organized and faced, floors are debris free, trash and cardboard carts are emptied and kept clean and hazard free at all times.
8. Periodically inventories available stock on hand and verifies stock count (cycle counts). Informs supervisor of overstocked items or items in short supply.
9. Utilizes hand-held device to conduct stockroom and department supply location counts. Has good working knowledge of system functionality.
10. Responsible for maintaining stockroom bins and distribution shelving with required labels and product customer requires.
11. Delivers clean linen to designated areas including the automated scrub and linen dispensing equipment as assigned
12. Picks up soiled linen and delivers to staging trailer as assigned.
13. Applies labels to various supplies.
14. Responds to code blue with back up crash cart.
15. Responsible for daily cleaning of work area.
16. Performs manual issues in supply line application as needed.
17. May be responsible for daily delivery of US mail and interdepartmental mail throughout Mishawaka Campus and Medical Office Building (MOB).
18. May provide periodic relief coverage for other Distribution positions as scheduled by Supervisor.
19. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education: Ability to read, write and follow multiple-step processes. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Licensure: None
Experience: Previous experience in an inventory control environment a plus.

Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions.
Work requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds on a daily basis.
Work requires carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a daily basis and pushing or pulling loaded supply or linen carts
Work may require climbing ascending or descending ladders or ramps.
Work requires ability to reach and grasp objects. Work requires pushing or pulling supply carts.
Requires working with equipment or performing procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls.
Work requires the analytical ability to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters.
Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.
Occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors, which involves ordinary courtesy.
Work requires ability to use computer inventory application and use of e-mail and meeting calendar function.
Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
